Bruke Museum is the oldest museum in the city. The museum strives to enlighten us about our world and its surroundings.
It is located right on the University of Washington campus. This is the Northwest's only major museum of natural history.

The museum is a treasure trove of scientific information which tries to pierce the veil of mystery which surrounds the world we live in.
Exhibits are separated into three main divisions: anthropology, geology and zoology focus on the natural and cultural history of the Pacific Northwest.

The archaeological collections contain more than one million artifacts from all over the world, including the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Japan, and Oceania. The Burke Museum's mammal collection consists of 51,641 specimens (as of August 2004) and includes 70 species of carnivores, 140 bat species, 262 rodent species, 38 primate species, and 37 marine mammal species. The Burke's mineralogical collection is one of the finest on the Pacific Coast.

Hours : Open daily, 10 am – 5 pm.
General Admission: general, .50 seniors, students and youth (5 & up w/ID)FREE to Burke Members, children 4 and under, and
UW staff/faculty/students.
