This one of its kind museum is the sole museum in the world which is dedicated to the world's biggest mammal—the whales living in the wild.

You can take a tour of gallery of whales and then watch them in their full glory of their natural environment.

The Whale Discovery Lab offers hands- on fun and education for school groups and others. In the Gallery of Whales you'll learn about the natural history of marine mammals, with a special focus on the orcas of J, K and L pods living in the waters of the San Juan Islands. A fascinating collection of exhibits, artwork, models and artifacts, including real whale skeletons and a family tree of the resident orcas.

A guided tour of the museum will give you a mine of information on whales. The whale season peaks in May—September when the boating traffic is at its peak. The whale museum's Soundwatch Boater Education Program allows you to study these animals from close quarters.

The Museum exhibits depict the natural history of the living whale through the interpretation of both art and science

Hours: 10a- 5p daily May- Sep; off- season hours vary.
