Welcome to Sea-Tac!

Located in Washington, the Seattle-Tacoma Airport or nicknamed by locals as Sea-Tac was named as such since it is within the Seattle and Tacoma area. This is the main hub for Alaska Airlines with its headquarters near the airport vicinity. This airport is gateway to destinations from East Asia, Europe and North America as well as to the internationally known Northwest Airlines. The highlight of the airport service would be the almost 30 million passengers it served in 2006.

History of the Airport

The Sea-Tac was constructed in the year 1944 by the Port of Seattle in service to its civilians. With a $1M and $100,000 budget from the Civil Aeronautics Administration and City of Tacoma respectively, the airport was successfully built and completed. The first flight from the airport began in 1947 which was then for commercial flights and first international flight happened when Northwest Airlines began taking service to Tokyo.
