Origin of the Seattle Times

Dating back to more than 100 years, Seattle Times was bought by Alden J, Blethen in the year 1896. He bought it from an 1891 founded newspaper, the Seattle Press-Times. The newspaper company is still operated by the Blethens Family now on its fifth generation. Being the leading news and information provider primarily in Washington state, it stood a weekday circulation of 212, 691 in 2006 and has seven Pulitzer Prizes to boast. 

Affiliate Newpapers of the Seattle Times

Owning several affiliate newspapers both in Washington and Maine, Seattle Times extends its services to different territories. Their newspaper affiliate in Washington State includes Yakima Herald- Republic, Walla Walla Union-Bulletin, The Issaquah Press, Sammamish Review and Newcastle News. While the Blethen Maine Newspapers include the Portland Press Herald and Maine Sunday Telegram, Kennebec Journal, Morning Sentinel and Coastal Journal.
