The dining room is sensational: two stories high, with glass- walled balcony, immense oval mirrors hanging over the bar, and a full- bodied stone mermaid poised to greet you at the entrance. Gather at the bar first to feel a part of the loud and trendy scene.
Oyster fans will want to start with the crispy fried oysters. If it's a cool, rainy day, opt to warm up with the roasted white sweet corn soup with peekytoe crab crevice and chipotle crème fraise. Main course standouts include Hong Kong- style whole crispy striped bass with roasted garlic soy dipping sauce, and the "Tower of Crab," a mile- high crab concoction with pickled okra- corn relish and lemon- Tabasco butter.
