Located in the historic Penn Quarter in the vintage Le Droit building, Zola's interior is rich with modern style and is an upscale American style restaurant.
You can taste the American Cuisines with influence from different cultures, funky creations and the décor which is rich in itself. Menu choices include appetizers like smoked beer and cheddar fondue and potato gnocchi with walnuts, tomato, sage and white anchovies.
The International Spy Museum is DC's hottest new attraction, so you can hardly blame Washingtonians for tending to dismiss its restaurant, Zola, as a likely tourist trap. But Zola is one of the year's pleasant surprises.
The centerpiece in each of Zola's dining rooms is a striking chest of drawers topped by a huge ice bucket packed with Champagne and white wines and surrounded by bottles of red wines and sparkling glasses. Chairs are upholstered in a geometric pattern. Red- velvet booths line each room's rear wall. The side walls sport floor- to- ceiling panels imprinted with blowups of frames from noir films. It all adds up to grand visual fun.
