PCC Natural Markets made a modest beginning as a food buying club consisting of only 15 families in 1953. Since then it has grown in strength and stature and is today the largest consumer- owned natural food co- operative in the United States.
PCC is owned by nearly 40,000 members who shop (along with thousands of non- members) in their neighborhood locations.
The stress is on quality. Only products which will meet their stringent qualifications are sold.

The local farmers and food vendors they partner with are directly accountable to their department heads, ensuring their products' quality, flavor and environmentally conscious production.
